Kathryn Jenkins – Principal

Kathryn completed her Bachelor of Business in Accounting at RMIT and was admitted as a CPA soon after. She is also a registered tax agent.  She enjoys working with people and business owners to resolve their accounting and taxation issues. Kathryn has extensive expertise in all areas of tax that small business owners face. She also has a particular interest in the area of Self Managed Superannuation Funds.

Gabrielle Philp – Principal

Gabrielle completed a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) at Monash University. She is a member of CPA Australia, the Tax Institute and a Registered Tax Agent. After working in government and industry she commenced in Public Practice with Abacus Professional Group. Working at Abacus has given Gabrielle wide and varied experience in assisting small to medium enterprises with business advice and taxation issues. She enjoys working with clients and building ongoing relationships.

Michael Varney – Consultant

Michael has over 30 years’ experience in public practice, delivering accounting and business advisory services to a diverse portfolio of clients. For Michael, being a client advocate means that he is always available as a first point of contact for his clients. He prides himself on being able to develop successful and collaborative relationships that deliver practical solutions to clients’ needs. Michael holds non-executive board positions with some client companies and partners with clients to assist and support them in identifying and achieving their personal and business goals. Michael’s professional specialities include accounting and taxation compliance, tax planning, management and business consulting. Michael’s qualifications include a Bachelor of Business, he is a registered tax agent and a member of CPA Australia. He is also a quality assurance reviewer for CPA Australia.

Allan Holman – Consultant

Allan has been involved in the accounting profession for over 40 years, commencing his working life with the Australian Taxation Office. After working with a smaller accounting firm for several years, he set up his own accounting practice in 1986.

Allan has now retired from full-time practice but continues to act as a consultant to Abacus Professional Group.

Prior to his retirement, he provided high-level professional services and advice in the areas of financial reporting/compilation, taxation and corporate secretarial. Tax planning and compliance services are provided for both individuals and businesses working closely with clients to ensure their awareness of their tax responsibilities and opportunities and to help them with the growth and profitability of their business.

He is a member of CPA Australia, a Chartered Taxation Advisor and a registered tax agent.
